The Lake

The past two summers we have vacationed with a bunch of really cool families that do a bunch of cool things on a lake and all the kids get along.  Cool! I consider this my active vacation, as opposed to the one I am sort of on right now. Because when I visit my family at the shore, we like to sit down!

Summer Plans

How much can we cram into one 3 day weekend? I guess more than I thought. Today we have no plans I am starting to twitch. It is a BEAUTIFUL day here too. Beach, pool, it's early morning now, but I know soon two kids are going to be looking at me , asking me, when, where , and what are we doing today. No camp, no play dates scheduled, just one day of no plans.  Sometimes the best days in the summer are when you just let the day play out. 

This weekend we celebrated our towns 100 year Anniversary of our fire department. They did an awesome job. Old fashioned games, food, a carousel, and a band shell with continuous music. At the end of the night there were Grucci fireworks. Kids loved just playing with all their friends with glow sticks. (Why do glow sticks mesmerize and hypnotize kids, works every time). One of those nights where you are just proud to live in our town.

Following night we attended Chinese American night with friends. Music and once again glow sticks made the night fun for all. I don't know how much the kids got out of it, but watching them play together is really the best part.
