The Cape

We just got back from a week at Cape Cod. My sister rents a house on the beach every year and we all tag along. Charlotte got to know all our routines. Eating dirt bomb muffins in the morning. Walking the beach, lunch at Cooke's seafood, naps, shopping and more long walks. The weather at the end of the week did not cooperate for bike rides or mini golf.  We decided to venture out to the Cape Cod Children's Museum in Mashpee and also the Cape Cod Natural History Museum in Brewster.  They were both better than we expected and the kids really liked them. Since school was in session, they were empty so we had the run of the place. For a rainy day, both places were great. The leaves had not turned their brilliant colors yet, late for this time of year. It was still  beautiful to have warms days and the fire place on a night. Our rule is no tv for the week, but no one ever updated the rule for Ipads. The ferry ride from New London to Orient Point home was interesting. It was empty, but boy was that boat rockin and rollin!! I mean the waves!! Charlotte and Connor had pent up energy and were acting VERY silly.  I just wanted to get off that boat alive. Thankfully, !!!!  there was no one in our section so they ran amok on the ship. I don't know which one made me more queasy, the boat or my kids.   So much for a peaceful, idyllic ride home!

And of course I took a zillion pictures....
