We made it!!!!! We are sitting in our hotel room relaxing after a looong day. The flight over was 13 hours from Chicago, but went surprisingly fast. Food, 2 movies and a stretched out sleep were great. Arriving at midnight, we met our guide Michael right away who brought us to our hotel, the Poly Plaza, and we went right to bed. The next morning after a very American buffet ( I had cornflakes!) we walked around the city for a while and literally stumbled on the CCAA building. I can't believe we just came upon the building where they were holding our file for 4 plus years to match us. We went back to the room and decided to take a quick nap. 17 hours later, we woke up! From the packing and the excitement, we were a little more tired than we thought.
Today we had your typical Beijing tourist day. We met with the other 12 families in our group and headed out to a full day of Tienanmen Square, The Forbidden City, a Jade factory, lunch, and The Great Wall.
The weather was cool, but sunny. Perfect for climbing. Tomorrow we are up a 5:00am for a flight to Nanchang. Tomorrow we will meet Charlotte!!!! Our lives will be forever changed. We can't wait.
OMG your in China!!!!Woohoo~ Great Pictures. Thinking of you.
