Dreams Come True

Today our group went to the Notary office where our adoption papers were notarized and we were given her very official looking adoption degree. Charlotte was so good during the long wait. The notary official also asked us a few interview type questions. I swear, she asked Peter about his hair! I had to have our guide interpret how he uses gel to get it to stick straight up. She seemed amused. She told me I was very, very, blond. Then we promised to love our baby forever and that was it.

Next we went to Walmart as a group to do some shopping, mostly for things we needed for our babies and then all of us ate at the KFC in the mall. We were all in heaven. The best french fries I ever had. After a week of spicy food, it was nice to have something familiar.

Charlotte is napping right now. She is so beautiful, her pictures do not do her justice. Rosebud mouth and such pretty eyes. She had her first bath with us today. Tears first, but then she calmed down. She is adjusting very well with us and sleeping through the past two nights. Peter has turned to me so many times in this trip and has said how absolutely adorable she is. It has been wonderful watching him fall so in love with his little girl.

Today is our 8th wedding anniversary. Amazing that we are here celebrating in China, and our journey together with Charlotte is just beginning.
